expiration dates on medicine

I still have a topical prescribed by a doctor it is for poison ivy.......the cream expired on april 2006...........Will it still work??

Seems the worst that could happen would be it doesn't work. I would give it a try. The consequences don't seem horrific like they can be with some pills.
Maybe try a small area and see what happens.

nah what happens is if you use something like that past its expiration date, it actually has the opposite affect (e.g. Your poison Ivy will get worse and spread throughout your body and into your large intestine).

from my understanding prescription medications will still work after the expiration date they just aren't as effective.

I take aspirin that was too old like 2 years ago. I am fine with it.
